Hi and thanks for reading more about me!
My name is Nik. I live in Idaho.
My Story
I’ve been fired not once, but twice — and both times turned out to be the best things that ever happened to me.
Those setbacks became the push I needed to step into entrepreneurship full-time.
Today, I’m proud to say I’ve built, scaled, and sold multiple businesses that have collectively generated over $100 million in revenue.
Early Career
After graduating college in 2012 at 27, I knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur — but my wife encouraged me to first gain real-world experience. She was right.
I spent nearly a decade in the healthcare industry, helping grow a $15M division into a $150M powerhouse. Along the way, I learned how to build centralized operations, negotiate deals, and manage growth at scale.
The Setbacks
My first firing hit me hard. I’d poured myself into my role, and losing it felt like losing family. But it forced me to confront my weaknesses — especially in sales — and commit to developing the skills I lacked.
The second firing was even more of a turning point. It happened the day my wife went into labor with our son. That was the moment I decided I’d never again let my future rest in someone else’s hands.
Starting & Scaling Businesses
In 2020, I bought a medical billing company through an SBA loan, bringing in my brother-in-law to run day-to-day operations. At the same time, I co-founded a home health and hospice business from scratch.
Within two years:
- The medical billing company sold at peak valuation.
- The hospice business grew from zero to $1M in revenue and became one of the fastest-growing providers in its market.
I’ve since started and invested in companies across industries — from healthcare to crypto mining to tree trimming — always looking for ways to build value and scale efficiently.
What I’ve Learned
Over the years, I’ve developed a personal framework for choosing and growing businesses:
- Competitive Advantage – Time, capital, expertise, or distribution.
- Right Partnerships – Working only with operators I trust.
- Clear Distribution Channels – Knowing exactly where customers come from.
- AI-Proof or AI-Accelerated – Avoiding businesses that will be automated away.
This approach has helped me move quickly on opportunities — like turning a viral social media post into a new venture with millions in potential sales in under a month.
Life & Work Today
I’m grateful to be in a place where I can choose projects that excite me and work with people I enjoy.
I’m not buying an island anytime soon — but I have the freedom to invest my time where it matters most.
